What the Critics Say
"The XC90's interior is a masterpiece of the medium. From the attractive design to the quality of the materials, we wish there were more vehicles like this." -- Car & Driver
"The three-row XC90 has a handsome interior with top-notch materials, room for up to seven occupants, and an expansive cargo area. It's loaded with advanced tech and safety features, and it offers engine options that provide great fuel economy and reasonably zippy performance. This is especially true of the T8 plug-in-hybrid variant." -- U.S. News & World Report
What's New for 2023
Quite a bit has changed for the 2023 XC90, with the big news being that it now has a bigger battery, up to 18.8 kWh. This means more power, up to 455 horsepower and 523lb-ft of torque. And improved all-electric range, up from 18 miles to nearly double that at 35 miles. Trims have been completely reworked and renamed. There are now three of them, named Core, Plus, and Ultimate. Several paint color options have been eliminated, while several more have been added, and Bright and Dark exterior trim packages are offered with all of them. Infotainment has been updated to a built-in Google operating system based on Android Auto. For Apple users, there will still be the option of using CarPlay.
