The two most popular powertrain options found on the XC90 are the B5 and B6 engines. While the B5 and B6 are each 2.0 Liter 4-Cylinder engines mated to a mild hybrid system, they have different states of tune.

You'll enjoy 247 horsepower from the B5 which is offered in all-wheel drive (AWD) as standard. By comparison, the B6 delivers 295 horsepower, but AWD and 7-passenger seating still comes standard. With the assistance of the mild hybrid system, the XC90 can hit 60 mph in 7.3 seconds with the B5 drivetrain, or 6.4 seconds with the B6. And it can achieve that while delivering 26 mpg** combined with the B5 and 23 with the B6.
